Japanese American history. Dedication of the Sunday School building, which is the two story to the right of center.It was constructed with funds raised by members, friends and money from the Board of Missions of the Methodist Episcopal Church. After a brief formal ceremony, the church celebrated with a stageshow and music. A movie closed out the festivities.
In the eve of the Great Depression, church members raised $6,500 to build this new Sunday School building—complete with stage, balcony and kitchen. It was a princely sum when men were earning 20 cents an hour but it was for the church. It was a proud day when the new building was dedicated on November 13, 1927. |
